In the midst of our food work, we’ve harbored another vision, one that isn’t as easy to talk about or sustain: since our priest of 20 years, Ali Lufkin, moved to Oregon, we’ve been talking about the spiritual and religious direction of St. George, including the question of hiring a full-time priest. In many ways, this is just as audacious a vision as turning our sanctuary into a food pantry or trying to cook Community Meals without a kitchen. We are a small group of individuals committed to a spiritual vision of renewal and connection in our community, and we want to seek a leader who can guide us in this work.
To do this, and to pay this person a living wage and benefits, we need to raise $67,000 a year. We did the math. We need 75 people who will commit to giving $75 a month to join us in this vision. 75 for 75.
Are you one of the St. George 75? If so, we welcome you and are excited to share more of our vision with you! Please let us know using the form below.
